Desire More? Yes, You Do!

We have the procedures of achievement upside down. Typically we come up with our to-do lists, our bucket lists, and our strategic plans — all the stuff we want to have, get, accomplish, and experience outside of ourselves. All of those aspirations are being driven by an innate desire to feel a certain way.

So what if we get clear on how we actually want to feel within ourselves, and then we design our to-do lists, set our goals, and write out our bucket lists?

  • How do you want to feel when you look at your schedule for the week?
  • When you get dressed in the morning?
  • When you walk through the door of your studio or your office?
  • When you pick up the phone?
  • When you interact with your children?
  • When you’re intimate with your partner?

How do you want to feel?

Knowing how you want to feel is one of the most important forms of clarity you can have.

You know what happens when that kind of inner clarity meets outer action? You’ll feel the way you want to feel more often than not. Decisions will be easier to make. You’ll know when to say “No, thank-you” and “Hell, yes!” You’ll be more optimistic, more openhearted. Your life will ease up on the grinding and fill up with more…ease.

Soul-centered living. Ahhhh.

Desire feeling good more than you want to check accomplishments off your list.

Desire feeling good more than you want to please other people.

Desire feeling good more than you want to look good.

DESIRE MORE? YES, YOU DO.

As a Desire Map facilitator, I take you on a guided experience through The Desire Map book by Danielle Laporte.  It is a fresh take on goal setting. You know how every year you make New Year’s Resolutions (to lose 10 lbs, take more vacations, do less) and then by February you’ve abandoned those goals, leaving you feeling bad about yourself?  That whole process is backwards. The way we should be doing it is by figuring out how we want to feel in every area of our life and then plan our goals and intentions to support us in feeling that way.

When someone comes to a Desire Map workshop, it’s because they want more out of their life.  They want love, connection, the house, a promotion, a better marriage or they just want to feel good when they wake up.  I help women discover how they most want to feel and then prioritize their actions so that the journey on reaching their goals feels just as rewarding as achieving the goal itself.  Feeling good is the whole point.
